Overview:
Our Burst Strength Test evaluates the ability of paper or paperboard to withstand pressure before rupturing. This essential test provides insights into the material’s durability and performance during handling, processing, and end-use applications.

Test Description:
In this test, a defined-size paper sample (typically 4″ x 4″) is clamped in place and subjected to increasing hydraulic pressure via a rubber diaphragm until it bursts. The maximum pressure recorded at the point of rupture is the material’s burst strength.
